Hey Y’all – last time we chatted was last year 😉 — crazy, right? But, on a more serious note, I am so happy you are here! I have so many dreams, visions, and goals for this new year and I cannot wait to do this life together with you as well.
My prayer for this space is that you feel invited, uplifted, and encouraged to be unapologetically yourself. I pray that you are chasing the Lord with an open heart and loving every minute of this beautiful life that he has created for you!
Why I am not making a 2020 Resolution
Year after year, I find myself apart of the community that makes a resolution for myself only to be burnt out by the end of February (kudos to those that set a resolution and totally rock it throughout the entire year). So, I have taken a different approach this last month to help me understand how I want to ring in the new year.
I’ve spent a lot of time in prayer this last month, and God has reminded me of my purpose and the point of the life that he created for me. You see, this life that was created for me – it’s not about me. It’s about God. My Savior. My Lord. My Father. My King.
This year is different. I don’t feel like setting a resolution for the year is going to help me become a better version of myself, because what I am chasing after is much bigger than a resolution. 2019 taught me A L O T about who I am, and the person that I want to be for not only myself or others, but as a Daughter of Christ.
- I’m on a pursuit to live more like Jesus.
- I’m striving to serve the Kingdom of God.
- I’m seeking my Father more intentionally.
- I’m focusing on loving wholeheartedly.
Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, and peace, with those who call the Lord from a pure heart2 Timothy 2:22
Exceptional. This is the word for 2020. The word that I’m going to use as a tool to be reminded of how I want to not only chase after my expectations, dreams, and goals, but a reminder to pursue the Lord this year wholeheartedly.
I’m ready to make this year exceptional for the love and grace of His kingdom. If you are finding yourself unsure of a resolution or a word to start the new year off – I want to encourage you to sit in prayer and ask for direction to align your heart with His. Pray for guidance to lead you in the direction that is going to glorify His name.
I pray this year is filled with lots of spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical growth. You deserve it gal! Do this thing for HIM! Let me know in the comments if you have a resolution or word that you’re going to resonate on this upcoming year; Y’all stay peachy!
